IMAP Version 4
I have two HP servers, RP5470 and RP8400. Both are running HPUX 11i. Has anyone heard of IMAP? I have received the following question from the DBA?
How do I install IMAP4? Is there a security concerns about receiving email inbound to the servers? Please review the following.
I know we have sendmail configured on both of our servers, but can you please tell us if they are "IMAP version 4 (IMAP4) compliant mail servers"? This will be used for receipt of inbound messages.
All replies are appreciated.

Re: IMAP Version 4
IMAP is a mail retreival protocol. Microsoft mail servers use it. Squirrelmail web based mail uses it.

Internet Express, a port of open source products includes cyrus imap server.
Your developers should be able to use popmail, but that also requires an add in product with 11i, called qpopper.
qpopper is also in the Internet Express toolkit.

Re: IMAP Version 4
From the Unix SA tasks. What actions do I need to perform to allow for this?
