I want to install service guard on an existing box. It is running some software.
Just want to know what will be the impact of this on existing applications.
Thanks,
Shiv

Re: impact of sg
The requirements are discussed in the release notes of SG you find at http://docs.hp.com/en/ha.html depending on your version of SG.
A reboot might be required after swinstalling the package and if you want to move your applications into SG packages, there will be downtime of the applications too.
So plan it well to limit the downtime.
best regards,
Kurt

Re: impact of sg
The purpose of the service guard is to have the applications under its control so that it can make them highly available. If you want to associate these running applications with service guard then this require some downtime and couple of functionality testings. If you do not want these applications in service guard then only effect on these will be during a system reboot after installing software.
Also if you have MC-OE than it has service guard included in it by default and you do not even require a reboot and
