Importing shared storage in non-exclusive mode to nodes.
Does anybody know if I can import shared storage (volumes) in non-exclusive mode for all nodes in cluster. For e.g. I have 2 nodes that share SAN storage. As per SG manuals, the storage belonging to a pkg has to be imported in exclusive mode. I need to know whether I can do in non-exclusive mode so that both nodes can read/write to the storage. Any thought? Thank you all

Re: Importing shared storage in non-exclusive mode to nodes.
Rajos,
From your previous posts I see you have already considered doing this through NFS mounts, so I assume you don't want to know about that method.
The only other way to achieve this is with a clustered volume manager (CVM) and clustered filesystem (CFS). HP do provide this in the form of the Serviceguard Storage Management Suite:
http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/cache/262609-0-0-0-121.html
This is an additional cost on top of normal Serviceguard.
What exactly are you trying to achieve, there may be another way of doing this.

Thank you Duncan. Yes, I will be implementing nfs pkg using nfs toolkit. I was curious to know about this shared read/write option.

Re: Importing shared storage in non-exclusive mode to nodes.
With standard SG and LVM you can NOT have read/write to the same disks at the same time.
As far as importing - yes, it can be activated on 1 node while you import on another - you just can vgactivate it on th esecond node.
You have to use Cluster File System to have both nodes access the data at the same time.
