Increase FTP Sessions
Guys, I would like to know how to increase the number of FTP Sessions. Should the kernel parmeter called npty, nstrpty and nstrtel affect this? I know that HPUX's FTP software doesn't have a limit.

Re: Increase FTP Sessions
Hi,
On wich system are you working if you say that H-UX has no limit ?
Presently, what is your limit ?
Regards,
Roland

Re: Increase FTP Sessions
I do not believe that npty, nstrpty or nstrtel have a bearing on the limit on the number of FTP sessions.
What may have a bearing would be nproc as each FTP session is a new process. Also, nfile as each FTP session will consume about 8 or so file descriptors. Also, the quantity of available swap space and memory as each FTP session will use a certain quantity of those.
There are some now slighly old :) FTP perf writeups at:
ftp://ftp.cup.hp.com/dist/networking/briefs/
that should have the specifics I'm unable to recall accurately.
