Solutionyou have 1152MB free space. to add this to lvol, do as follows.
1. If you have OnlineJFS
lvextend -L "new_size_in_MB" /dev/vgxx/lvolx
fsadm -b "new_size_in_MB" /mount_point_of_fs
2. If you do not have OnlineJFS
umount /file_system
lvextend -L "new_size_in_MB" /dev/vgxx/lvolx
extendfs -F vxfs" /dev/vgxx/rlvolx

Re: Inforamtion about space available on vg?
FREE_PE*PE_Size = Total Free Space
Here
288*4=1152 MB
For adding free space to LV, if you have online JFS you can do it online otherwise you will have to unmount the mentioned file system.
The steps in both cases will be slightly different. What is your case?

Devender

Re: Inforamtion about space available on vg?
In the VGdisplay output
PE Size (Mbytes) 4 <------ PE size
Total PE 17260
Alloc PE 16972
Free PE 288 <------ Free PEs
Total PVG 0
Total Spare PVs 0
Total Spare PVs in use 0
and the free spcae available is
PEsize*Free PEs
after calculating this you can do
#lvextend -L
HtH,
Siva.
