I am still running hpux 10.20 on HP 9000 D370 with the following informix product:
IDS: 7.31.UC2A
4GL: 7.20.UE1
ISQL: 7.20.UE1
ESQL: 7.24.UC8A
I am planning to upgrade (cold install) to hpux 11i. I will run in 32 bit mode due to the EISA MAX board.
does anyone know if the above products will run after this upgrade? I really don't want to do both upgrade at the same time.
Thank you very much for your replies.

Re: Informix IDS 7.31 on HPUX 11i
Pete, 7.31 FC1, the 'F' says the engine is compiled on a 64 bit machine. I think I saw it somewhere that IBM is making a version denoted 'F' that runs on 11i for both 32 and 64 bit. I am worried about the true 32bit version running on 11i, although I am planning to use 11i 32bit.
Are you running 32 or 64 bit with your 11i?
Thanks!

However, get a later version - 7.31.UD7 is out now.
However, get a 64 bit later version - why not?

Re: Informix IDS 7.31 on HPUX 11i
You should use 7.31HC of 7.31FC compalations. The HC is a 32-bit compalation for HP, and FC is a generic 64-bit compalation. The UC is a generic 32-bit compallation and for some reasons or other (I forget what, I think it may me mellenium bug related) when going to HP-UX 11.X IBM/Informix reccomended using the HC compalation and NOT the UC.
Alternatively go to 9.4... givem that the 7 codestream is obsolete.. (I know 7.31 is a special case, but it will be obsolete soon)

Tim
