Ingres & PRM?

Ingres & PRM?

Anyone out there using Process Resource Manager with Ingres? Does it work? Can you manage memory allocation effectively as well as CPU utilisation?

I don't need a PRM-101 session - I'm just looking for any experiences people have of this particular config...

Thanks,

Duncan

Re: Ingres & PRM?

Duncan,
I am not sure how Ingres interacts with the operating system to trigger PRM, but as long as PRM can be configured for memory as well as CPU utilization it can very well be addressed wheather it is Ingress or any other application on the server.
thanks

Re: Ingres & PRM?

Duncan,

I am using PRM with sybase. I am limiting just on CPU's (licensing issue), and it works as advertised. I am not using memory allocation, but it uses the sam groups, and I know of no reason why itwould not work as well as the cpu capping. Big yhing is process selection for the group
