input file from mail system

We have unix system and Lotus notes mail system , now everyday outsider send us a mail with a attachment file (text file) to notes , and we download this attachment file to desktop and upload it to our unix system , we do it everyday ( because the security problem , we don't allow the outsider connect to our unix directly ) , so I would like to ask is it possible that the unix can import the attachment file from notes ( so that once the notes receive the mail , it will put the attachment file to unix directory ) ? Thx

Re: input file from mail system

I know nothing, but it might make more sense
to ask if the "Lotus notes mail system" can
be told to do something when it gets one of
these messages. Like send it to the HP-UX
system (by FTP, scp, e-mail, ...).

Can you have the original e-mail message
delivered to or forwarded to the HP-UX
system? It's fairly easy to set up a
program to process e-mail which is delivered
to a particular user/alias.

I have absolutely no idea how you could run a
program on the HP-UX system to fetch a mail
message from Lotus Notes (but that doesn't
mean that it's impossible).
