Which HP-UX version do you use ?
I ve never used OR seen "inq" in HP-UX ? may be others help you more..

I am getting the dsk path in the inq o/p.I have a perl script to be modified for V3.So i need to get the disk names .
/opt/admin/bin/inq -sym_wwn

I have an inq version V7.3-852 and it shows the persistent names.
# inq.HPUXIA64 | grep disk
/dev/rdisk/disk19_p1 :HP 146 G:ST3146854LC :HPC3 :3KN35VVW : 143374744
/dev/rdisk/disk19_p2 :HP 146 G:ST3146854LC :HPC3 :3KN35VVW : 143374744
You should download new version from powerlink.

even though it says 7.1.2 it is 7.3-1059 .
# ./inq.hpux64 ? |grep -i vers

other link has no inq anymore OR need somehow privileged user maybe ?
