install components from installation hp-ux 11i cd

Hi,

I need to reinstall Apache/Tomcat/Webmin tool on a remote server. Is it possible to copy via ftp the apps from the cd number 3 on the core os cd to the remote server and install the indivdual components, via swinstall. Or must I copy the whole cd, I don't have a HP-UX server on the local site so I can't mount it locally.

Thanks
Michael

HI Michael,

You can copy HP Webserver suite alone. It is possible,

hi,
you may also copy the software to a depot on the remote server and install it across the network (assuming the bandwidth is acceptable)

hope this helps too!

kind regards

Re: install components from installation hp-ux 11i cd

I need to install version Dec 03, apache 1.0.06.2. I;ve had a look at the software.hp.om archive and this version isn't listed. I'm also curious if you could copy components from the installation cd.

Thanks

Re: install components from installation hp-ux 11i cd

Unfortunately I donâ t have a HP-UX machine on the local site. What format is the core cd in? If I copied the directories from the cd to the remote server could I build a depot from them?

Thanks
Michael

Re: install components from installation hp-ux 11i cd

Hi,

Thanks for your replies I managed to do it. I copied the application directories off cd 3 and the catalog directory to the remote machine, swinstall then worked.
