Install Hang on rx2660 of B.11.23

I am attempting to perform an installation of HP-UX B.11.23 on an rx2660 configured with 2 Montecito processors and 8GB of memory. I begin a cold install by booting from the internal DVD drive. The system makes it to a point where it lists a table of memory specs for the system and then it just sits there and doesn't go any further. I have the VGA device configured as the primary console and I am also hooked into the serial console with another computer so I can get the remainder of the output. Does anyone have any ideas what my problem could be?

Output from sysrev indicates the following FW revisions:
HW : M0
MP FW : F.02.17
BMC FW : 05.21
EFI FW : ROM A 06.20, ROM B 06.20
Sys FW : ROM A 03.01, ROM B 03.01 Boot Rom A
PDH FW : 50.07
UCIO FW : 03.0b

You should configure only 1 console, maybe the problem is there. For this server, you need a current install media, best is newest for several reasons.

You a probably right, the console output is likely being redirected and lost.

According to that, I would quit trying to use the VGA port, looks like that is for a Windows install only.

Well I took the recommended advice and disabled and detached the VGA console and then set the serial console to primary. Same results.

Under the EFI console config menu, did you make sure all 3 settings
- input
- output
- error
are set for serial console?

Also make sure that any USB keyboard or mouse are disconnected.

Worth a shot to try a different DVD. I have seen it before.

I also assume you are using a somewhat current HPUX 11.23 (Dec 2007 is the latest) or 11.31 ?

Do you have a P400 RAID card?
If so what is the RAID configuration?

I'm expecting that you have configured a RAID 1 set using the disks in the far left slot as you look at the server from the front and another slot. Probably the fifth from the left.

HDD Slot 8 is at the far right.
HDD Slot 1 is at the far left.
Recommended to use slot 8 and 4 mirrored for VG00.
PS: Don't forget to allocate points.
