installation of 11i on IA machine

Hi all,

sometime back i tried to install 11i core os through DVD on an IA machine, but i couldn't.
while rebooting i selected the option: boot from
" Internal DVD " but it didn't worked.
so is it that one cannot install 11i on an IA machine.

Hi Amit:

Yes, that is true. For Itanium servers you need 11.23 (otherwise known as 11iv2). Version 11iv2 (11.11) does not suppport the Itanium chipset.
