Installation of VSEMgmt Failure

I have tried installing VSEMgmt A.04.00.07.33.01 on HP-UX_B.11.31_IA but the installation fails with the error "Analysis was unsuccessful. Before installing, you must fix Analysis errors and re-analyze the target."

Can some one please tell me the exact procedure to be followed when installing the VSEMgmt bundle?

I have attached the swinstall log.

Well its complaining that youy don't have Java Out of Box iunstalled. It's available here:

However I would have thought you'd have had this problem when installing SIM as well - you do already have SIM installed on this system don't you?

What about "swlist -s /cdrom/VSEMGMT" ? I suppose you have started installation with "swinstall -s /cdrom/VSEMGMT" and guess the correct path is "/cdrom". But because you have used the interactive session you have changed to the correct path in the session.

So the following message [ ERROR: There is currently no depot software on ost "vseint1" at location "/cdrom/VSEMGMT". Make sure that an absolute pathname is specified for location (beginning with "/") ] doesn't mean many thing. To avoid this just enter "swinstall -s /cdrom"

But it does not explain the analysis error. So post /var/adm/sw/swagent.log. We will find more useable informations

I need to install the VSEMgmt on the server with the HP-UX virtual server OE not a HP-UX CMS. so i had not installed HP SIM coz it would affect the performance of the virtual servers.
Actually what i need is a graphical management interface.

You CAN'T have both VSEmgmt and HP Integrity VM. I guess that it is the error you would find in /var/adm/sw/swagent.log

As Eric says, you can't do that...

The link I provided you makes it clear that the VSEMgmt components require SIM to work.

What are you trying to acheive here? If you just want to use Virtual Machines Manager (VMM) you should find that installed anyway if you have the VS-OE - it's just part of Systems Management Homepage, so just point your browser at "http://your-host:2301" - then login using your root password and go to the tools page where you should see a link to Integrity Virtual Machines Manager.

If you wanted Global Workload Manager (gWLM) or Capacity Advisor, or Virtualization Manager.... well you need a SIM CMS for all of those.

Duncan is right what you need is probably VMMGR through SMH, not VSEMgmt. Just a point on the product itself : you will not find it on core OE CDs 09/08. Maybe on applications CD, don't know. But you should download the latest version from http://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=VMMGR

The VMMgr is not installed by default with the Sept 08 HP-UX 11.31 VS-OE and its not in either of the installation dvds. Let me try the download.
