Installin PHSS_22658
Im preparing for update my box from HP-ux 11.0 to 11i.
One of the requisites is the minimum firmware version
After I installed some patches, I checked the firmware version and it is 41.02. According to the documentation, this is the minimum firmware version for updating to 11i
However this patch (PHSS_22658) is missing in my box, so, I tried to install it but I've got this message
How can I fixed?
If my box is already in 41.02, can I skip this patch?
Thanks in advance

The swpackage command will not convert a target depot with
layout_version 0.8 into 1.0 even if the layout_version option
has the default value of 1.0. You should package 1.0 software
into a 1.0 depot or set the layout_version option to 0.8.
If you want to convert software in an existing 0.8 target into
layout_version 1.0, you must first set the target
layout_version attribute to 1.0 using the command "swmodify -a
layout_version=1.0 @
If you want to convert just the selected 1.0 software to
layout_version 0.8, you can specify the "-x
layout_version=0.8" option.
Note by converting 1.0 software to layout_version 0.8, you
will lose any new 1.0 attributes which can corrupt the
software if it depends on 1.0 attributes.

//
Beginning Analysis Phase.
* Source: gemota:/tmp/patches/PHSS_22658.depot
* Target: gemota:/tmp/patches/depot
* Target logfile: gemota:/tmp/patches/depot/swagent.log
//
The target should be gemota:/
When you run swinstall, make sure the target is set to default (/) and the source to your /tmp/patches/PHSS_22658.depot

s700_800 11.00 N4000 42.06 firmware patch
You are already at 41.02
I think its a good idea if your box is an N4000 to install the patch.
I think the upgrade strategy needs some consideration.
In a controlled lab environment with a cookbook my classes success rate was only 65%.
If you are going to do it, make a couple of make_tape_recovery tapes before you start because the possibility of problems is large.
Most of the old hands do cold installs, get all the apps working and then migrate the data to new hardware to avoid the upgrade.
If you MUST upgrade, then in my far from humble opinion, you MUST take a good Ignite backup before you start.

Re: Installin PHSS_22658
The patch you are attempting to install is for 11i and you're box is at 11.0 (and why you got the sdux messages)... so if you need to install a patch to update the f/w so you can go to 11i, you'd need to install the 11.0 patch for your box. The 11.0 equivalent patch is PHSS_22657.
Hope this helps,

Re: Installin PHSS_22658
If your firmware version is at the minimum level required for 11i, you don't have to worry about installing the patch.
