Re: Installing a network printer on HP9000 N-class server
Hi,
You have everything in :
man lpadmin
lpadmin -pprinter creates the printer.
HP4500 supports PostScript so you should have absolutely no problem. The system might even have a dedicated driver for PCL.
Regards,
Jean-Charles

Re: Installing a network printer on HP9000 N-class server
hi,
Ensure that the printer can be pinged from the system
and it also has name associated with in the DNS or
hosts file .
You would need jetadmin software to install the printer as a network printer.
To check whether you have
jetadmin on your system
do
swlist |grep -i jetadmin
If you don''t have it you
can install it from the
Application CD.
Then, run
/opt/hpnp/bin/jetadmin
-> it is a menu driven
utility which is easy to
use.
-> select configure printer
_> select add printer to local spooler

Take it easy.
