Installing Apache 2 and PHP5 on HP-UX 11.11
N.S.Sreenivas,
I try to use PHP5 with Apache 2 on HP-UX 11.11.
I have the same error message as you and I try your work-around without success.
Could you exlain me the exact procedure that you did ?
Which libtool file did you modify (Apache or PHP) ?
Regards,
Thierry.

Re: Installing Apache 2 and PHP5 on HP-UX 11.11
Thanks for your answer,
But I need to use PHP5 with socket module and HP doesn't provide this version of PHP (with the socket module) in the depot.
Did someone compile PHP5 as a share module usable with Apache already compiled by HP ?
Thanks for your help.
Thierry.

Re: Installing Apache 2 and PHP5 on HP-UX 11.11
HP has in the past wisely waited for components like PHP to become stable before integrating them into the web services package that includes apache et al.
I do not believe PHP 5 has been integrated.
The problems you and others are having compiling it point to the possible reasons why HP hasn't integrated PHP 5, though this is pure speculation on my part.
Until its stable, you are going to have to port PHP 5 yourself. If you do succeed, you will probably have to modify at least some of the header code. Thats pretty common when porting open source code to hp-ux.
Its either compile it yourself, which I've seen no evidence that anyone has successfully done or wait for the depot port from HP.
I would suggest you contact you HP rep and tell them that PHP 5.x is a priority for you. If enough customers request it, the wheels and priority of the work may change.

SEP
