Installing gmp requires gmp.
uname -a
HP-UX utgis1 B.11.31 U ia64 2791069711 unlimited-user license
I was trying to install gmp-4.3.2 with
CC="gcc -mlp64" CXX="gcc -mlp64" ABI=64 ./configure
on configure, this error message shows up.
checking whether assembler .align padding is good... /usr/lib/hpux64/dld.so: Unable to find library 'libgmp.sl.15'.
./configure[30698]: 15533 Killed
I assume that libgmp.sl.15 is a library file generated on gmp installation,
but can't understand how gmp needs gmp to build.
Or maybe do I have to install a earlier version beforehand?
I have another OS which successfully runs configure,
but file doesn't show up in the /usr directory or the /lib directory.(find [dir] -name libgmp*)
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Installing gmp requires gmp.
Hello sjjung,
The version you are trying seems to be very OLD .
You may try use more recent version which would be available in depot rather than compiling the software for installation .

Re: Installing gmp requires gmp.
I'm sorry I haven't mentioned the version.
I'm trying to install current stable version(6.3.0) of gmp.
Where can I download the depot file?
I only managed to find the HP-UX Porting and Archive Center
which I was told that it's an unofficial website.
And I tried installing the gmp-6.3.0 from the Porting and Archive center,
which didn't solve my problem and created the same error message.
Maybe I've messed up filddling with the library files?
Is there anywhere I could download the libgmp.so.15 file?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Installing gmp requires gmp.
Hello sjjung,
You could download gmp version 6.3 from Porting and Archive site , which is hosting many open source products , though it is not managed by HPE . The URL to download the product would be http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Maths/Misc/gmp-6.3.0/ .
You may verify the integrity of the software installed in server using # swverify \* and check swagent.log (/var/adm/sw/swagent.log) before installing this software since it is mentioned that installation of the depot showing same error , as i did install the product without any issue .
