Installing hp-ux 11i on rx1620

I want Know if is it possible to install
hp-ux 11.11 on rx1620?

rx boxes are IA-64 and by definition require 11.23 OS and beyond.

No, the 'rx' designation identifies an Itanium server and these require 11i version 2 or 11.23.

That will install. 11.11 is PA-RISC only.

Hi (again):

The 11.20 (11i version 1.5) and 11.22 (11i version 1.6) releases are obsolete and are *not viable* options.

11.20 reached end-of-life June 30, 2003. 11.22 met its end-of-life October 31, 2005.

Neither the 11.20 nor 11.22 intstallation guides list the rx1620 as a supported model.

And indeed, the only HP-UX revision that will even _work_ on an rx1620 is 11iv2 - aka 11.23. The rx1620 is a "Madison-based" system, and the first HP-UX release with support for the "Madison" Itanium2 CPU was 11.23. 11.22 (aka 11i v1.6 only supported McKinley Itanium2 and I think perhaps Merced (Itanium1).

If the concern is to have the same OS on IPF and PA systems, it would be good to note that 11.23 Update2 and later is also available for PA.
