Re: Installing HP-UX 11i

I would prefer to keep / to 160 MB and /stand to 80 MB

Re: Installing HP-UX 11i

I would suggest about 200MB for / and 120MB fo /stand (provided you've got the disk space).

Re: Installing HP-UX 11i

Here's the deal. It's difficult to know how much space will be needed for future OS upgrades. Because / and /stand must be contiguous and thus can't be expanded easilyt later, I tend to oversize them (~ 170-200MB for /; and about 128MB for /stand. If you need to save space on your boot volume, the smart play is to make primary swap small (256 or 512 MB). You can always add more swap on another device (or even the same device) if you need to at a later time.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Installing HP-UX 11i

Hi Valkiria,

me also, i do allways 150 MB for /stand to have the possibility have some backup kernels there and for / i give 300 MB.

Allways stay on the bright side of life!

Re: Installing HP-UX 11i

Hi,

You can increase both the size of /stand and / to 100MB in case you want some backup files to be stored. Well 200MB here or there shouldnt make much of a difference but remember that once you fix the size, you cannot increase it.
So keep a buffer and continue.

I prefer ,

/ --- > 200Mb
/stand ---> 120Mb
