Installing Mirrordisk-UX

I am running into a problem when attempting to install Mirrordisk-UX from disk.

The error I am getting says:
"There is currently no depot software on host "dev01" at location "/dvd". Make sure that an absolute pathname is specified for location (beginning with "/".)

I have specified my path name when I receive this message.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Installing Mirrordisk-UX

2 questions:

- what was your command line?

- if you have an OS without mirrordisk included - do you have a codeword???

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Installing Mirrordisk-UX

I did not originally use the command line I attempted to do this from SAM.

I tried the commanded listed "swinstall -s /dvd \*" and got the following message.

ERROR: There is currently no deport software on host "dev01" at location "dvd". Make sure that an absolute pathname is specified for location (beginning with "/").

Re: Installing Mirrordisk-UX

Is there anything at /dvd? Is it mounted?

Re: Installing Mirrordisk-UX

Is it mounted: Yes

What does 'ls /dvd' show?: The contents of the disk that is loaded in the drive. I can see a directory (b2491ba) which from the table of contents on the disk is Mirrordisk-UX.

Kapil:

If I do have it mounted somewhere else how do I verify this? And if so, what do I need to do to correct this problem and Install Mirrordisk-UX.

Re: Installing Mirrordisk-UX

I need to know what to do in order to apply the codeword. What are the steps?

Re: Installing Mirrordisk-UX

Just add "-x codeword=123456789abcd..." to your swinstall command and use *your* codeword that you received from HP.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Installing Mirrordisk-UX

I typed this command:

swinstall -s /dvd -x codeword="My Codeword".

And I got the following error:

There is currently no depot software on host "dev01" at location "/dvd". Make sure that an absolute pathname is specified for location (beginning with "/").

What's there when you do: ll /dvd
