Installing Modem In HP UX

hi, can you guy tell me how to install a single modem in the hp ux server?

my server configuration are as below:
- two RP7410 HA custer server,
- a Aztech 56k serial modem.

just stage out the procedure of it, coz i am new in unix and lack of training for HP-UX.

k, i have installed alreadly, but how do i test it, is there any program or script to test or monitor it.

Hi Jason,

It depends on what you are using it for as to how you should test it.

Firstly you should confirm that the device files are present and have the correct attributes. Next you should check that you have configured the modem's dip switches or internal settings correctly.

If you are using dial in access, then dial in to the modem and check that it answers and provides the correct prompts. Test this at least 2 times, to prove that the modem and port reset correctly.

For dial out usage either test using your application, or use Kermit or cu to dial out to a known working modem.
