Installing Online JFS

Hi guys. We will be installing Online JFS on a couple of servers soon. Does anybody know any good installation guides or release notes online?

It is a pretty straight forward procedure. Put the application CD/DVD rom into the drive. Run swinstall. Enter the proper codeword provided by HP. Then select the product and install it. Can not get any simpler than this one in my opinion.

The OS is HPUX 11. and we utilise LVM on all our servers.

Once the install is running will there be any configurations I need to do?

Also am I right in thinking this will need a reboot?

No manual configuration is necessary. swinstall, when it completes the install, will autoconfigure the filesets. And yes you're right. A reboot will be necessary as this product places hooks into the kernel, i.e modifies the kernel.

No configurations.

Just install and ofcourse reboot. That's all.

Hi

Use the swinstall command to install the Online JFS (the correct version as your OS version) After the install the filesets will be configured and the server will reboot.

Once it is up you are ready to use Online JFS.
