Installing Oracle9i on HPUX11i

Hi Guys,

I am installing Oracle9i on HPUX11i which is Trusted System. I am getting following error

Throwing IP address of a host could not be determined.

I have connected X-Windows client to HPUX server using cross-cable.

Has anybody in the Universe faced this problem?

Are you able to login thr' X-windows client to hp server. Whether your client is on the network and if so why cross cable?
Where exactly you have connected your client!!

Hi Bharat,

Without telnet to HPUX sever from my X-windows client how can I start installation of Oracle9i. The reason I have cross-cable between HPUX server and X-Win client is that, for the moment I can't connect HPUX server to network because of some reason. I am getting this error in middle of the installation.

Could you tell me where exactly it is stucking up and explain the faulted scenario in more detail if you can.
Is that it simply comes out saying:
"Throwing IP address of a host could not be determined"
I would love to help you but information seems to be limited.

Hi Bharat,

I am getting this error before starting installation, exactly when oracle is checking resources. This error is giving option like Ignore/Retry/Continue/Cancel. I selected `Continue' several times, but the same error appears. Pointer is moving from 60% to 80% so.

Hi Bharat,

My problem is solved. It was a setup issue as a whole. I reinstalled OS, then Gold Pack, then converted to Trusted System and then Installed Oracle 9i, which went thru. I had installed Gold pack after converting system to Trusted System.
