Installing second LAN card in IA64 RX4640
Hi,
I need to install a 2nd Ethernet card into my server so as to allow connectivity outside of our internal Network only on that IP address, the problem i am having is naming the 2nd card differently from the server name.

I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand

Re: Installing second LAN card in IA64 RX4640
Assign the IP address , update /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file , add the required routes and add the entry in /etc/hosts file and also update DNS if you have one.

Re: Installing second LAN card in IA64 RX4640
Hi,
You can add this new card with a different hostname. This can be done by assigning a different Ip to new card and add an entry in hosts file having new card IP and new host name.
HTH,
Devender
