Installing Software onto Ignite Depots

Hi
I was wondering if someone could guide me, we have two depots setup on our ignite server - 10.20 depot and 11.0 depot. A colleague setup 11.11 however we found the the apps that require a codeword were not included. What would be the correct way to install all software onto our 11.11 depot. i have been using make_depots and make_config command - unfortunately this doesn't show the protected software.

Re: Installing Software onto Ignite Depots

I cant see anything in make_depots or make_config that can handle licensed software. It all depends on the source.

If the source is an apps CD in your CD drive then you're going to need to copy the licensed software manually using swcopy afterwards.

If the source is a depot youve already built then someone must copy your licensed software into it first.

only 2 ways to copy licensed software into a depot;
1. download your licensed software from the itrc.hp.com using SUM (software update manager). This accesses your support contract, works out what licensed software you have, and allows you to download it. You can then copy it into a temporary depot and run make_depots or make_config on it (using it as source)
2. mount your apps CD's in your CD drive and find your software license (piece of paper/certificate when you purchased it) and use the swcopy -x codeword= to copy into a temporary depot, then run make_depots or make_config on it.
