installing unlimited user license

i have downloaded the hp-ux unlimited user license and how do i actually installed it on my currently hp-ux 10.20 2-user. can i do it using software install in SAM ?

HP converted licensing to unlimited several years ago.

I don't think you need to do anything to the server. Every tried logging in user #3? It probably worked.

I would do nothing unless you are getting specific messages from the OS indicating a licensing problem. HP just wants you to have a valid right to use license, which is supposed to be transferred to you when you purchase the hardware.

You would use "swinstall" to install it. Lets say you've put the bundle in /tmp and I think the bundle name is called UnLimUserLic_10.20.depot. With that you would run ..
# swinstall -s /tmp/UnlimUserLic_10.20.depot

You really don't need this. The way HP counts users, a 2 user license is sufficient 99% of the time. They don't count telnet sessions, rlogin sessions and the like. Pretty much the only logins that count against your license are console logins. That's why the unlimited user license is free!

yes,you don't need to installing unlimited lisence to your machine,although there is just 2-user license on now a day.

All network users count as 1 user, and every serial connection counts as 1 user including the console.
