Integrity VM Trial Bundle NOT WORKING
We installed Integrity VM Trial Version on HP-UX11.31 (0903) Base OE. The product is installed but I cannot use the VM commands such as hpvmcreate, hpvmnet etc.
Here is the output from swlist:
swlist | grep -i Integrity
T2801AA B.04.10.02 Integrity VM Trial Bundle
VMGuestLib B.04.10 Integrity VM Guest Support Libraries
VMGuestSW B.04.10 Integrity VM Guest Support Software
VMProvider B.04.10 WBEM Provider for Integrity VM
Here is the output from hpvmcreate:
hpvmcreate
sh: hpvmcreate: not found.
I disabled the Hyper-threading on this machine but no luck.
Should I activate the software before I can use it or what. I'm totally stumped.
Thank you

Re: Integrity VM Trial Bundle NOT WORKING
To use the commands you must be able to find the commands. I would suggest you use the absolute paths. Or source your ~/.profile and see if that sets PATH.

Re: Integrity VM Trial Bundle NOT WORKING
Did installtion complete successfully? What's the output of:
swlist -l fileset -a state T2801AA
Do you have the "day one" HPVM4.1 patches installed:
PHSS_39342
PHSS_39354

Re: Integrity VM Trial Bundle NOT WORKING
I have checked and there is nothing wrong with the bundles. I believe this is a dependency issue, but I do have Base OE 0903 installed!

Re: Integrity VM Trial Bundle NOT WORKING
Anyway the software you need is the VMkernelSW product which should be on the March 2009 11iv3 Application DVD - Part Number - 5014-1423 (1st DVD).
It's odd that this isn't in the trial bundle or seperately downloadable - I'll ask why not.

Re: Integrity VM Trial Bundle NOT WORKING
Perhaps that would make the download too big?
It probably doesn't matter if it is downloadable. But what it should say is that it is depending on VMkernelSW, with the details like you said.

Re: Integrity VM Trial Bundle NOT WORKING
The VMkernelSW software is available for download from the same page as the rest of HPVM:
http://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=integrity_vm41
What isn't made clear is that this either needs putting into the same depot as the rest of the software (for a single install), or must be installed first before installing the other products.

Re: Integrity VM Trial Bundle NOT WORKING
Thanks for the responses.
I finally fixed it: HP SIM was the cause!!
I uninstalled it and the trial bundle installed perfectly.
Thanks
