Intel EtherExpress

Hi,
I have just recently starting supporting an HP-UX 10.20 system with an Intel EtherExpress Network Card in it and have had problems trying to boot from an Ignite Server using this card. Does anyone know if this card supports booting from the network? The card is from 1994 :-o and has the following specs:
Intel EtherExpress
Pro/100 LANAdapter
ID=INT1060

Any help is greatly appreciated.

thx,
Tim

Re: Intel EtherExpress

This is an unsupported card, so I would believe that Ignite would also be unsupported by Ignite/UX

Re: Intel EtherExpress

When you say unsupported you mean it is not a card supported by HP? The card works just fine but does not work trying to boot over the network. Do you have any idea where I could find out for sure if this is the case?

Re: Intel EtherExpress

This appears not to be an HP card, therefore Ignite will not support it.
A list of supported cards is documented in hte Release Notes for Ignite, available at hte Ignite web site

Re: Intel EtherExpress

Tim, to boot from the network you need EEPROM BIOS on the card. I remember I used this feature many years ago, but it was Novell client workstation booting from Novell server 4.1.
