SolutionYes it is MIRROR/UX, and yes you need latest LVM patches. And if your disk are used with VxVm, you should purchase instead VxVm extension in order to do mirror. But for both LVM and VxVm you need to purchase a product from HP (patchs are free ;-).
Cheers.

Re: Internal Disk Mirroring
For mirroring, you need the MirrorDisk/UX product. This is present in 11i in the Enterprise OE or above. Adding it provides all the requisite functionality.

Re: Internal Disk Mirroring
Mirror/UX is the software that create mirror copies. You can use it both internal and external disks.
This product has a cost and in this link can find more information.

Re: Internal Disk Mirroring
Check your system as follows to see if you already have Mirror/UX:
swlist | grep -i mirror
If it returns Mirror/UX then you already have it & can start using it.
Now for a piece of advice on mirroring. One mirrors to prevents failures in the disk subsystem from affecting the system. The subsystem includes the controller (HBA), the cable and terminator as well as the disk itself. So although one can do it, it's generally not a great idea to mirror to a device in the same subsystem. Because if the HBA or cable failed - you'd lose *both* disks.
So if you have disks on another subsystem - either internal like N-class or RP7410 systems - or external off another HBA, then that's where you want to mirror that disk.

Jeff

Re: Internal Disk Mirroring
The link which twang referred to is probably the best Mirroring document you'll find.
