applicaple on hp-ux , or any internet proxy server software

Hello,

you have some choices from "free" to "expensive":
- IPFilter/9000 from http://www.software.hp.com/ISS_products_list.html is a port of the Linux/BSD "packet filter" package to HP-UX, supported by HP, and I would recommend it for each and every HP-UX server your run
- VirtualVault is a special, hardened (and extended) verison of HP-UX, which is used quite often to interface a company's SAP R/3 to the internet
- certainly there are a lot of third party products, but I haven't worked with any of those, yet

We run Checkpoint's FireWall-1 on HP-UX and it has been rock solid. One item that you definitely don't want to bargain buy is a firewall.

Another checkpoint user. We tried it on HP eventually moved it to NT because HP boxes are pretty expensive.
