.
I'm in need of some help regarding the descriptions of some cards being used in newer servers. When running "ioscan -fk", does anyone have an example of what the description looks like for, a) FDDI cards, b) ATM cards, c) Dual Port 100Base-TX /Ultra2 SCSI Combo interfaces, and d) NetRAID-4Si four channel Ultra2 SCSI Controllers?
.
Just a description from the ioscan for any of the above cards would be a great help.
.
My points keys are stuck on 10 pts, so everyone wins.
.
Regards,
Paul Middleton

SolutionDuapl Port 100Base-TX adapters are ethernet LAN cards with two ports to allow teaming, two connections on one IP address with APA add in softwaer.
Ultra2 SCSI are Small Computer System Interface cards, you can hang all kinds of devices off them, tape drives , etc, which btw will also show up in ioscan.
Don't have answers on the other items.
Hope this helps.

Re: ioscan definitions
.
I'm well versed in the ioscan command, the problem is I'm going to be accessing some A-, L-, N- Class servers in other states, and I want to be sure of what I'm looking for.
.
I won't be able to run the regular ioscans due to security regulations, so I'm preparing a short script to dig for the info. Knowing what the descriptions are would be a great help.
.
I'll leave this thread open for another day to see if anyone else can help. In fact, anyone that knows what the description for a Ultra160 card of any kind, it would be greatly appreciated.
.
Regards,
Paul M.

Re: ioscan definitions
That is exactly what I wanted. Too bad no one had anything in the ATM cards, or did I miss that.
.
Anyhow, Points are being assigned now, and Tim, I take back almost everything I've said about the UK.
