Re: IOSCAN not working
1.) It might be an IOSCAN problem, install
the latest ioscan patch.
2.) IOSCAN normally takes some time (few
seconds) based on the hardware configuration,
as it searches to find any hardware changes
(additions & deletions), so this is normal.
3.) If your intention is not scan the H/W, but
just get the existing H/W-driver list then
try using ioscan -k OR ioscan -u.

Re: IOSCAN not working
try ioscan -fun
find the status of devices other than claimed(like NO_HW , scan etc).if yes pointout which devices they are.remove that devices and try. this can happen if devices like tape goes out of state.

Re: IOSCAN not working
configuration. Try to find where is this
problem using ioscan for different groups of hardware: disk, lan, ....
#ioscan -fnC disk
#ioscan -fnC lan
...
...
This way you could localize the problem.
Check existing of files:
/etc/ioconfig
/dev/config
Regards.

Re: IOSCAN not working
Ioscan hangs due to improper cabling (connecting storages boxes to your server) like no proper termination, loose connections etc.
Check that once.
Hope that helps.

Re: IOSCAN not working
1. You lack of some OS patches. Check it by using release note.
2. Check file system capacity by bdf (if some file system is full all command will hang, not only ioscan)
3. Check syslog to determine the health of Hardware.

Re: IOSCAN not working
push 'o'
go to "tools" -> "utility" -> "logtool"
And read the instructions there.
Then create a summary log.
Any hardware problems will show.
