Ioscan strange outputs

Hi,
when executing ioscan -fn in one machine I'm obtaining:

unknown -1 4/0/1 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN ISA card #

And there is no card phisically there. How can i remove this output from ioscan?
I have tried rmsf -H 4/0/1 without results
(io_destroy failed _nomatch found).

Thank you very much.

Re: Ioscan strange outputs

What type of machine is this? The D class machines, maybe others, had an eisa_config program that had to be run to update the EISA configuration if cards were moved or removed.

That may be what you have to do here.

# man eisa_config

for more information.

Rafael,

As Patrick asked, what kind of server? And I would ask, what is your OS release level?

Re: Ioscan strange outputs

You can attempt to recreate your /etc/ioconfig file (but be careful)

man ioinit
man ioconfig

make an ignite backup before doing anything.

I used to use this procedure to change instance numbers.. the same applies to remove..

see attached.
