IP Printing GURU's....
I found the following command today (HP-UX 10.x/11.x) -
/usr/dt/bin/dtprintinfo -p stlwhsxx
dtprintinfo -p
To see a specific printer, use the -p option and one of
the following print queue names.
a Printer Status Screen pops up....slick, If you like gui's.
If you select the printer, followed by a right-click - Properties
I am able to identify which ip address is associated
w/the printer.
This information is under the Device Name field.
This information is also available through SAM.
My question is,
Is there a way to identify the associated IP address
without using these two tools mentioned.
I know that lpstat -t | grep printerID will work,
It just takes forever to come up w/the desired info.
All advise is appreciated,
manny

Re: IP Printing GURU's....
Hi,
try the command: hpnpadmin -v [hostname of the printer]. You will get all infos you need.
The hpnpadmin command comes with HP JetAdmin or the HP JetDirect Printer Installer for UNIX which is available via download for free.
I hope this will help you.

Re: IP Printing GURU's....
Try lpstat -o, this gives you the remote printer queue name and remote server it is on.
I have updated my printer status checking scripts (located in /var/spool/lp/sinterface) to include a ping test/report (based on lpstat -o, rather than having my lpstats having on printers turned off.
This should give you exactly what you want.
