then the next question is, which OS are you running ? ( assuming HPUX because you posted this question in an HPUX forum)
uname -m
if "ia64" then you are on itanium
If running windows then my computer -> properties will tell you the processor info.
If linux
then I believe a "cat /proc/cpuinfo" will be the tell all...

That will get you a process list.
From a Linux system you may wish to try a port scan.
nmap host_name_unix

...[that's an uppercase 'V'] verifies that IPF is running. If you read the manual (link) I posted (on troubleshooting) you can learn a great deal!

-V Show version information. This will display the version infor-
mation compiled into the ipf binary and retrieve it from the
kernel code (if running/present). If it is present in the ker-
nel, information about its current state will be displayed
(whether logging is active, default filtering, etc).
