IRIX-NIS-Master, HP-NIS-Slave-Server, "...RPC not registered..."
Hi ,
we have a NIS-Master-Server on SGI-IRIX and some NSI-Slave-Server on SGI-IRIX.
Now, i tried to make a c3750 with 11.00 to a NIS-Slave-Server. All like described in [http://docs.hp.com "Configuring and Administering an NIS Slave Server"].
But if i make an : /usr/sbin/ypinit -s NIS-Master-Server i'll get following errors:
Transferring hosts.byaddr for domain iavc.de from nisserv...
nisserv: RPC: Program not registered
Transferring hosts.byname for domain iavc.de from nisserv...
nisserv: RPC: Program not registered
----------------------------------------
???
And the HP-NIS-Slave-Server don't work.
What's happen ???
regards, Heiko

Re: IRIX-NIS-Master, HP-NIS-Slave-Server, "...RPC not registered..."
rpcinfo -p will show you all the registered rpc services on your HP system. rcpinfo -m will print stats to show you what they have been doing, if anything.
You'll also want to check the syslog.log for rpc related errors.
