Is it possible to install HP-UX on Xeon platform?

Hi,

I have a few servers with 2 CPU of Xeon 2.4GHz. I want to use these by running HP-UX on them if possible.

Can I do this? Or which HP-UX version can I install on those platform?

Could you tell me If this is possible?

Sure it is. All you would need is software
on the Xeon system which emulates a machine
on which HP-UX will run. I know of no such
software, so you might need to write it
yourself.

It might not be _practical_, but many things
are possible.

HP-UX has not been ported to that platform.

An interesting factoid is the Compaq purchase by HP came as a result of talks to port HP-UX to 32 bit wintel hardware.

Too bad that never happened.

You need IPF, Itanium IA64 hardware to run HP-UX
