Well most of us just use external time sources (servers) in our local region to sync to.
You can Search here to get alot of threads that tell you how to do this [ set up ntp ]
Here is one to get your started that goes with the external source and also using internal server. Frankly, I like to blend the two...have a couple servers sync to the outside and then the rest of the servers internally syncing to them.
But you choose which method you like best.
