Good afternoon;
Really have two questions regarding dataguard?
1. Is serviceguard required?
2. We have two EVA's one eva will be moved with servers to our dr site, wondering how the inital sync of dataguard work. We have a 1.8tb database that will need to synced with our dr site all the while production is running.
All thoughts/comments greatly appreciated.

Solution
Shalom Norm,
1. No.
2. Probably this will work if bandwidth is sufficient. It would be technically easier to take a cold backup to the DR facility and then start dataguard.

Re: Is serviceguard guard required for oracle dataguard?
Steven;
Thanks for your response, could you tell me how long you have been running oracle dataguard, what problems you encountered in getting it running. Are by any chance running oracle apps at your site. Lastly how are you using oracle's dataguard as a DR site or ?
Would appreciate any response you could provide.
