Is TCPDUMP a Hp software or is a free - shareware ?

Hi all.
I would like to install this utility on my systems, so I do not know if is a hp software.
Also will be very appreciate it a description of installation procedure.

It is free

You can get it from the HP porting center.

It is in the depot format

you can do a
#gunzip .gz
#swinstall -s .depot

Here you'll find a depot you can install with swinstall/SAM.

Software from this side is particularly for HP.

Also,the main thing is that tcpdump is dependent on libpcap

you need to first install this before tcpdump.
The installation procedure is the same.

do a gunzip and then a swinstall on the depot file

As nice as it would be, no, HP does not ship tcpdump for HP-UX. Others have mentioned the porting archives. The "cannonical" home for tcpdump and libpcap is http://www.tcpdump.org/
