Is there a command line version with Webjetadmin (HP-UX 11.0)?

Are there command lines that go along with webjetadmin? If so can you please point me in the right direction?

I would like to use a command line to return the status of a printer (i.e. paper jam, online, etc).

There is a command line version of JetAdmin, if that is what you are asking.

If you have HPUX 11 or Sun, download "Jetadmin Printer Installer". This is one of the modules in "WebJetadmin". We decided not going for "WebJetadmin" based on the fact that all systems need a webserver. This is not the greatest in a high security env. The command jetadmin is now called hppi. Some model scripts has been updated. A nice feature is that you can export and import print queues between systems.

Patrick: thx for the response. i have actually read that post...Maybe I am not be specific. We are moving from 10.2 to 11.0 and since jetadmin is being phased out to webjetadmin we are moving to webjetadmin. We currently use a script using jetadmin to display printer status. What I would like to do is use some form of command line (not the gui form webjetadmin displays) to display the printer status. Do you know if webjetadmin has a command line version along with the web version. (i.e. Omniback has both the gui and command lines).

Does Jetadmin Printer Installer = Jetdirect? I think this is the case, or am I mistaken? Jetdirect is great but it lacks the functionality of displaying the printer status where jetadmin can.

Other ideas?

Check the man page for hpnpadmin and for lots of details, try:

hpnpadmin -v IP_address.or.hostname
