Issue: Network connection instable after unsuccessful failover

Hi,

After a unsuccesfull failover test we tried to roll back the system. Everything has gone back to the original state but now the connection is very instable . I can connect via telnet for a few seconds sometimes minutes and then it just disconnects. Via the Console i have a good connection.

Can this issue be related to the named ?

any ideas suggestions ?? please

Thanks ,

Tommy

You fail to provide much meaningful data. Did the failover test involve MC/Service Guard or something else? The first thing that occurs to me is that you have more than one interface on the same host on the same subnet or possibly duplicate IP addresses.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Issue: Network connection instable after unsuccessful failover

Hi,

Yes you are right, the problem was related to the other server lagging up the network. This has been resolved now.

I do have one question, if the hosting provider puts in the fibre optic cable in the wrong port would this allocate a different "size" mapping on the server or shouldnt this matter ?

Also to make things worse the dataprotector omni server got remove and i cant seem to install it again with the swinstall... (its just gone ??) any clues...
