Re: Itanium Patch

Go to the patch database pages on the ITRC
selct your OS and version, use keyword libc and see what it lists

I suspect you are after PHCO_31700 or something like that

And the patch PHCO_19691 is NOT FOR ITANIUM.

Use the CUSTOM PATCH MANAGER http://www6.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/assessSystemsPage.do

Re: Itanium Patch

You might want to search for libc patches:

http://www6.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/search.do?pageContextName=hpux:::&BC=patch.breadcrumb.main|patch.breadcrumb.pdb|

Change the OS to 11.23, and enter "libc" and then search.

Re: Itanium Patch

Hi All,

Thanks for your reply, My system date is not going beyond 2037. If I say

Then it give me error

Re: Itanium Patch

For this same itanium box??

You should open a new thread!

Anyways, date will not got to 2038:

The numeric argument is interpreted left to right in
two-digit pairs as follows:

mm Month number [01-12].
dd Day number in the month [01-31].
hh Hour number (24-hour system) [00-23].
mm Minute number [00-59].
cc Century minus one [19-20].
yy Last two digits of the year number [70-99, 00-
37 (1970-1999, 2000-2037)]. If omitted, the
current year is used.

Currently, the maximum date supported is December 31, 2037 23:59:00
UTC.

Re Harry,

I find that hard to believe.

Having worked at an insurance company, we routinely had to handle (pension buildup period ending) dates of 40 years into the future.
Even way back in the 1980's, when a system change was mandated by end-of-current systems availability, that was THE major reason to choose a system without any "millennium" issues.

So, are you saying that HPUX is unfit for use in the insurance business?

Proost.

Have one on me.

Re: Itanium Patch

JPE,

I agree that it's lame.

It appears that date is still a 32 bit app. Using "date" versus getdate (in 64bit mode can result in correct usage). In the banking world in the 1980's we had the same issues with loans that extended past 2000, thus we had most Y2K issues resolved back then.

see man getdate

8 invalid input specification. For example, February 31; or the
time specified cannot be represented in the time_t data type
in 32-bit HP-UX (which represents Tuesday January 19 03:14:07
UTC, 2038) or exceeds the maximum date supported in 64-bit
HP-UX (which is Friday December 31 23:59:59 UTC, 9999).
