I am starting a proof of concept for our PeopleSoft servers. HP is bringing in a couple of rx and rp systems. questions:

will hpux 11.11 run on Itanium?

If I want to load peoplesoft and oracle, will I need special version of the media to run on Itanium, or will my regular media that I install on PA Risc work for me?

I think 11.11 is not available on integrity servers. The lowest available OS version is 11.22 but there is a newer version 11.23 out for integrity (a.k.a. itanium) series servers.

About PeopleSoft RISC architecture binary compatibility with itanium, the best way to verify this is to call PeopleSoft support and ask them the question and have a definitive answer. Anectodal evidence that someone is running it this way, does not really mean that it will run under your particular configuration case.

HP-UX 11.11 is not meant for Itanium servers, it is PA RISC only.
You need at least 11.23 for Itanium
You may want to run 11.23 September 2004 Update 2, as this can be installed on both Itanium and PA Risc servers.

I have media labled:

"hp-ux 11i version 2 for HP integrity and HP 9000 servers"

I guess this is 11.23. Do you think this media will work for the OS?

Yes this is the new release for HPUx 11.23 which is common for both PA-RISC and Itanium servers and will work file for your itanium servers.

What Peoplesoft product are you referring to? The Peoplesoft Enterprise Platform or Enterprise one (previously JDE Enterprise One)

I believe it is the PS enterprise.
