J3623BA on my D280
My D280 has 11.00 installed on it. It has
a J3516A 100BT card in it, but the driver was never installed. I can't locate my 11.00 disks but have my hp-ux 11i disks. Can I install the driver from hp-ux 11i disks onto my D280 running 11.00 and have it work?
thanks
Darryl

Re: J3623BA on my D280
I checked my application cds for 11i (all 3
of them), I also checked my core cds (2 of them) and didn't see the J3623BA software.
These cd's are from HP for my machine and its configuration. What gives?
thanks again.

Re: J3623BA on my D280
Believe you need PHNE_25579 - it contains J3623BA. Here's the link:

Re: J3623BA on my D280
/tmp directory on my D280. cd to /tmp.
then sh PHNE_21767. This created the
PHNE_21767.depot and PHNE_21767.text files.
I then did and got the following:
# swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x patch_match_target=true > -s /tmp/PHNE_21767.depot
======= 03/29/02 14:26:07 CST BEGIN swinstall SESSION
(non-interactive)
* Session started for user "root@hotrod.osborneindustries.com".
* Beginning Selection
* Target connection succeeded for
"hotrod.osborneindustries.com:/".
* "hotrod.osborneindustries.com:/tmp/PHNE_21767.depot": This
source is a tape device.
* "hotrod.osborneindustries.com:/tmp/PHNE_21767.depot": Cannot
open the logfile on this target or source. Possibly the media
is read-only or there is a permission problem. Check the
daemon logfile and "/var/tmp/swagent.log" on this host for
more information.
NOTE: The patch match operation failed to find patches for target
software on "hotrod.osborneindustries.com" which passed the
filter.
NOTE: Cannot continue the "swinstall" task.
======= 03/29/02 14:26:14 CST END swinstall SESSION (non-interactive)
checked the permissions and they are rwxrwxrwx
on /tmp. I am root when trying to execute the command. What am I messing up?
thanks

Re: J3623BA on my D280
Try Sandip's suggestion.
You may also try to register the file with the swreg command.
But I've seen this before & it's caused by the way the depot was packaged. I'll try to find the solution - can't remember off-hand.
But I have to question why you pulled PHNE_21767 - that's an ARPA cumulative & contains no products - just fixes.
You need PHNE_25579.

Re: J3623BA on my D280
BTW PHNE_25579 has as dependencies:
PHNE_18075
PHNE_18409
So if you don't have these already you might as well pull them while you're there.

Re: J3623BA on my D280
swinstall said that PHNE_2167 was already installed. So, I jumped straight to
PHNE_25579. swinstall said it was a 'sparse' file and was intended to update already installed software. As I am trying to get and
install the J3623BA software for the first time, this isn't going to work.
Any other ideas (I do have the 11i cd's).

Re: J3623BA on my D280
Sorry, I've searched all over HP & cannot find it anywhere - including the HW Enablement, HW/CR & Quality Packs for 11.0.
If anybody out there can get J3623BA to Darryl have at it. I'm out of ideas. The only thing I can think of is try to have your HP sales rep loan you an 11.00 CD set to get it installed.
Rgds,
Jeff
