Thanks. sorry about that pete. my bad. it says java 5 supports PA RISC 2. my machine is rp3410. how do i find if it is PA risc 2 or not?

Actually, I'm not sure what they mean by PA RISC-2. There is a page that identifies more exactly what is required - this may help:
