Java installation

Hi, all
I have D-390 running hp-ux 11.0. now i need to install java, i tried with all application cd's but couldn't find java. does anybody installed java can tell me the procedure in which cd java will be and does it require codeword?

No, java does not need a code word. You can download the various java version for HPUX from:

http://www.hp.com/products1/unix/java/

couldn't i get the java in CD? is we need to download the java and install instead of installing from CD itself.

Hi Ravi,

THe website will always have the latest versions as well as the earlier versions so it is easier to download from the web.

Also the application CD may not contain the latest version.

In anycase which version of java are you looking for?

Don't forget about the patches, you need to download them from the web anyway.

I just received a mailing from HP saying Application RElease September 2001 is out now for order, reading what it contains shows you have on these new cd Java2 JRE 1.2 (Update) Java2 JRE 1.3 (New), the same for SDK
