java version and location

How do I tell where java is loaded at and what version it is running. I'm installing progress 10.0 OpenEdge and it requires JDK and JRE. I looked in SAM and it says under software that I have both JDE and JRE 1.5 Java loaded. What is the location though?

for version:

#swlist -l product | grep -i java

It's usually installed in /opt
