JDK 1.4.1 throughput collector = no verbosegc output?

When running the 1.4.1.02 JDK on PA-RISC HPUX with the -X:verbosegc and -XX:+UseParallelGC options, no garbage collection information is captured. I don't see this issue documented in the release notes. Has anyone else encountered this?
