Jetdirect Printer Installer E.10.34 on HPUX10.20 with LaserJet1320

I just have installed the last version of Jetdirect software for our HPUX server.
I have created queues for HP network printers.

I have configured a LJ1320 printer with 2 trays : one tray for letterhead and one tray for plain.

When I launch the command

lp -dQUEUE_NAME -s -oraw -omtypeLetterhead FILE

on the LJ1320, the printer always waits for a paper on the manual feed !!

I can not print on the tray with letterhead paper.

The modelscript used for the printer is the normal HP script, net_lj1320.

Could you help me.

Are you sure the tray name "Letterhead" is a valid tray option for the net_lj1320 scrpt? I don't have this script but other scripts I have seen use tray names like manual, tray1, tray2, tray3,... bin1, bin2. Run "man net_lj1320", if that does not have a man page, tale a look at the model script itself to see what the tray options are.

I don't to use tray but type of paper (mtype).
I have configured the printer to link paper with tray.

It works with a HP Laserjet 4200 network printer.

It does'nt works with the LJ 1320.

If you look in the two model scripts in /opt/hpnp/sh/net_lj1320 and net_lj4200 the "Letterhead" code is very different different in the two printers. I don't know if the net_lj1320 is an older model script and does not have the enhancements or it is a physical limitation on the printer itself. You may want to try and create the 1320 spooler using the 4200 model script and test if it works.

I use the net_lj4200 model script for the HP LJ 1320 printer.
Now it works.
